It speaks for itself I think!...

 Hello lovelies,
It's that time of year again... I've been out selecting the best petals ready for pressing. I do this every year, then I forget about them till a rainy September day.

They are beautiful pressed and ideal for crafty makes. I love to make my own gift tags with them!
What are you waiting for?... Go and pick some petals.

                                                      Have a lovely day!

Hello lovelies, thought I'd share with you my simple and propper lush lavender cake. I make this cake every year after our visit to the lavender fields.

You will need... 5 sprigs of fresh lavender, 1 orange, 3 eggs, castor sugar, self raising flour, stork, 1tsp milk, 1tsp vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

This is so easy! First weigh your eggs (in shell), the weighed amount is exactly the amount of flour, sugar and stork you will need... e.g 8oz eggs = 8oz flour

Once everything is measured out, cream together the stork and sugar, add the flowers of your lavender, grate one orange into the mix, add a pinch of salt and your vanilla and mix.

Next put a small handfull of flour into the bowl and crack in 1 egg ( the flour will help it not to split) beat together and repeat with the remaining eggs, then sieve in the remaining flour and mix. I like to add a tsp of milk at this point.

Line a loaf tin and spoon mix in, pop in the oven at gass mark 4 and check after 40 mins. Depending on your oven this cake can bake for 40 to 55 mins. Press the top lightly, it should spring back.

If you want to add a drizzle icing then use the juice of the orange ( I like to add a little lemon too).
And stir in a cup of sugar. Spoon this over the hot cake then put some place to cool.

Lastly find a nice place to sit, and get the pretty china out.

Hello lovelies, I took my little girls to our local lavender field today, we're so lucky to live near the fabulous Hitchen Lavender farm! It's always the start of our summer hols when we go and we always celebrate with one of their scrummy cream teas. I've put together some pics bellow to inspire you to go...

                      Pretty lavender bunches.

Drop into bath for a sleepy treat!

                                        Have a lovely week end.

 Hello lovelies,

Just one week to go and the children will be on their summer hols... I'm trying desperately to install a new bathroom and keep my sanity in tact. I'm finding little bits of escapism In between all the hard work is key, and I'm finding inspiration in the garden. Here are a few snaps of the week so far...

I'm keeping the walls and suite in the bathroom pure chalky white but I've headed outside to the flower beds for some pastel inspiration, and have made the most of the weather by taking my work outside too. Inspired by the sky and the pinks of these flowers, I've re-loved this little wall unit to reflect these pastel shades and gone for a summer chintz and bird paper for the backing from Laura Ashley.
The paint is one of my favourites from Farrow and ball in shade Dix blue. I think this will look lovely against the calm white of the walls. I can't wait to put it up!

Hope you are having a good week!

Naturally... I had to go!

 Hello lovelies,

Belvoir Fruit Farms held their first ever Elderflower festival today to celebrate their 30th Birthday.
Despite the rainy start it turned out to be a fab day out! Lots to do for little kids and big ones...
With guest appearances from 'The Great British Bake Off- Frances Quinn' and my favourite stylist
and author 'Selina Lake' whom I had the pleasure of meeting, and finally got my hands on her latest book 'Outdoor Living' which she very sweetly signed for me.
Below are a few snaps of the day...

Gorgeous blooms were everywhere... Hanging roses bobbing about in Belvoir fruit bottles.
Beautiful hay bales draped with lace and hessian made comfy seats. Scrummy cakes ready for eating,
and the gentle sound of Cricket in the background made for a quintessential English summers day.

Thank you all at Belvoir farm for sharing your fabulous birthday, and thank you Selina for my lovely
new book which I can't wait to get started on!

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!

Ok so I no it's not that hot here in sunny Bedfordshire but some of us can't take the heat at all...
I found my gorgeous new David Austin Rose named Boscobel in such a sorry state dipping it's big
Romantic blooms to get out of the sun. I decided to do what I could with this pretty mess so here are a few mid week floral pics to pick you up. X
